Division of Pediatric Neurology

Director's welcome

The Division of Pediatric Neurology offers all health-related services to patients with neurological complications. In conjunction with Children's of Mississippi, the only children's hospital in Mississippi, patients receive care from our team of nine pediatric neurologists and two nurse practitioners, and a dietitian representing all the clinical subspecialties in pediatric neurology.

The care of our patients comes from faculty that have trained in premier programs from around the world. Our pediatric neurology team provides comprehensive care for all forms of neurological complications.

We share the same vision as the UMMC Department of Pediatrics: our promise to Mississippi is to improve the health of children and adults with neurological complications by providing world-class care, educating tomorrow's medical leaders, and promoting discovery and innovation.

Children's of Mississippi, located on the UMMC campus, has inpatient beds, PICU beds and NICU beds. Pediatric Neurology also offers a 24/7 video EEG monitoring unit. We are the only pediatric neurology team that offers this to patients within the state of Mississippi. We have also expanded our team to Biloxi, Hattiesburg and Tupelo with other locations in the near future.

The Division of Pediatric Neurology is very active in the education of medical students, pediatric residents, child neurology residents, adult neurology residents, and clinic neurophysiology fellows. Our faculty members give lectures, grand rounds and are heavily involved in the daily clinical education at Children's of Mississippi. Additionally, we have added a weekly child neurology lecture to the adult neurology residency program, which is aimed at improving basic neurology care across the state as these residents graduate.
